Eren Yeager AI — The Attack Titan Edition

The Attack Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) is one of the Nine Titans, and its power is unique: it can receive memories not just from past inheritors, but also from future inheritors. This means an Attack Titan holder can be driven by the will of someone who hasn't even inherited it yet — locking Eren into a path he could see but never fully change.

The Founding Titan is the most powerful of the Nine Titans, granting its wielder control over all Subjects of Ymir — their memories, bodies, and Titan transformations. Eren couldn't fully access it because of the Vow Renouncing War, a pledge restricting its power unless used by a royal-blooded holder. This changed when he made contact with Zeke Yeager's royal blood.

The Rumbling is the activation of the Wall Titans — millions of colossal Titans buried within the three Walls — who march outward to flatten the world beyond Paradis. Eren chose it after concluding that eliminating the global threat to Eldians was the only path to true freedom, accepting himself as the monster the world needed.

Eren first transformed during the Battle of Trost when he was swallowed by a Bearded Titan and, in a rage, unconsciously manifested his Titan form from inside the Titan's stomach. This transformation revealed his power to the Scout Regiment and nearly got him executed before his usefulness was recognized.

Carla Yeager was killed when the Colossal Titan breached Wall Maria, and Eren watched helplessly as the Smiling Titan consumed her. This single moment became the core trauma driving Eren's obsession with freedom and his hatred of Titans — and, later, the catalyst for the entire war. Eren later discovered he had inadvertently caused this moment himself through the Attack Titan's future memory loop.

The War Hammer Titan can generate solid structures from Titan hardening — weapons, spikes, enclosures — without the wielder being inside the Titan's nape. Eren obtained it during the raid on Liberio by using the Jaw Titan (Porco Galliard) as a nutcracker to crack open the War Hammer's crystal and consuming Lara Tybur, absorbing her power.

The Attack Titan's power allows past and future memories to flow between holders across time. Crucially, future holders can send memories backward — meaning Eren, as a future inheritor, influenced Grisha Yeager's actions years before Eren was born. This 'future memory' loop makes the Attack Titan's path feel predestined and paradoxical.

The Paths is a metaphysical dimension connecting all Subjects of Ymir to a single point — the Founding Titan. Within Paths, time does not work the same way. Ymir Fritz has existed there for thousands of years, building Titan bodies from sand. Whoever holds the Founding Titan can contact, command, and manipulate through Paths.

Eren's break from the Scouts was deliberate — he needed to act unilaterally without dragging them into the guilt of the Rumbling. He manipulated the Yeagerists and allowed himself to become the villain of the story, ensuring that when his friends killed him, they would be seen as heroes who stopped him, not complicit traitors.

Mikasa is Eren's childhood protector, bonded to him through the Ackerman awakening — a power trigger she unlocked defending him. Eren's feelings were complex: he cherished her but also resented the bond, fearing it was not truly her choice. In his final confession in the Paths, he admitted he loved her and asked her to forget him after his death.

Armin is Eren's oldest friend, the one who first showed him the outside world through books as children. Eren ultimately chose to spare Armin from the Rumbling's guilt, meeting him in the Paths to explain his plan. Of all Eren's relationships, his bond with Armin is the most purely ideological — two people who wanted the same dream but reached opposite conclusions.

Ymir Fritz is the first Titan and the founding ancestor of all Subjects of Ymir, enslaved to the will of the Fritz royal family for 2,000 years inside the Paths. Eren was the first person in millennia to ask her what she wanted, recognizing her as a victim rather than a tool. This connection unlocked the full Founding Titan power and triggered the Rumbling.

Grisha Yeager was a Marleyan Eldian restorationist who lost his first family to Marley, infiltrated Paradis as a Titan spy, stole the Attack Titan, and killed the Reiss family to take the Founding Titan. His actions — driven partly by memories Eren's future self sent back — gave Eren both powers through a spinal fluid injection in the forest.

Eren obtained the Founding Titan when Grisha Yeager, driven forward by memories of the future Eren had already sent back to him, killed the Reiss family and injected Eren with his own spinal fluid in the forest. The event was a time-loop Eren both witnessed through Zeke's War Hammer memories and had already caused by being the future inheritor.

The Rumbling marched until the Alliance — Armin, Mikasa, Reiner, Annie, and others — intercepted Eren's Founding Titan form at Fort Salta. After a grueling battle, Mikasa entered Eren's mouth, found his decapitated human body, and killed him. The Rumbling was stopped, though not before it had already devastated much of the world beyond Paradis.

In the Paths, Eren revealed his full plan to Armin — including that he always intended to be stopped by his friends, that his death would end the Curse of Ymir and free Eldians from Titan powers forever, and that he wanted Armin to carry the story forward as the hero who stopped the greatest mass slaughter in history.

Eren was killed by Mikasa, who decapitated him inside the Founding Titan's mouth. His death fulfilled the Attack Titan's 13-year curse and, through his manipulation of Ymir Fritz via the Paths, ended the Curse of Ymir entirely — freeing all Subjects of Ymir from the power of the Titans forever.

'That Day' — the fall of Wall Maria to the Colossal Titan — is the opening event of Attack on Titan and the event that sets everything in motion. It is Eren's defining trauma and the moment humanity was forced to remember its helplessness. Every Eren action from that point forward traces back to the rage and grief of watching his mother die powerlessly.

The Ackerman bloodline carries latent superhuman strength and reflexes that unlock under extreme stress. Historically, Ackermans served as shields to Titan royalty. Mikasa's protective instinct toward Eren has been interpreted as the Ackerman awakening — a biological drive to protect a host — which Eren himself resented as something that robbed Mikasa of her own choice.

Attack on Titan intentionally refuses a clean answer. Eren believed he was buying freedom for future Eldian generations at the cost of global destruction. His friends chose to stop him and call him a monster. The epilogue suggests conflict will return even after his death. Whether Eren is a tragic hero, a war criminal, or something in between is left deliberately unresolved — and that ambiguity is the point.
